Regional Euro-Atlantic Initiative: Regional Youth Euro-Atlantic Forum
With the aim to profile Western Balkans region’s Euro-Atlantic perspective the main project goal is to create and maintain a nucleus of young people, future regional elites – capable eventually of taking over the decision-making process and raising public awareness in order to decomposing negative “myths” and prejudices as to the role of the NATO which causing the obstacles in the WB region’s way joining Euro-Atlantic community. Special attention will be paid on considering the role of NATO 60 years after establishing its mission in safeguarding the freedom, principles of democracy, stability and well-being as well as individual liberty and the rule of law.
This goal will be attain by:
1). establishing the basic infrastructure of the Youth Euro-Atlantic Forum settled into the premises of the Centre for Politics and Euro-Atlantic Partnership, in the city of Novi Sad – the symbolic centre of the Regional Euro-Atlantic Initiative; under the auspices of the Jagello 2000, Czech Republic;
2). organizing Regional Youth NATO Debating Competition in Novi Sad, venue: Parliamentary Assembly of AP of Vojvodina: the group of 18 young people will form the core debating structure properly instructed in addressing the issues of WB region’s joining the NATO in the light of possible political, economic and security benefits as well as from the angle of considering the NATO achievements in due course of the last 60 years of its activities.
3). launching Euro-Atlantic blog;
4). organizing two-day study visit Czech Republic’s main NATO/EU institutions in Prague for the winners of the Youth NATO Debating Competition, over the period of four months.
